Twunk
Twink plus hunk: a young-looking, usually smooth gay man with a boyish face and a clearly muscular, gym-built body.

A twunk is a twink who got muscles: young-looking, usually smooth, with a boyish face, but built like a hunk. Twink plus hunk, twunk. Twinks are young adult men, and so are twunks: think a guy in his twenties with a pretty face, a defined chest, real arms and no body hair to hide any of it.
The appeal is the contrast. A twunk has the fresh, cheeky look that makes twinks popular and the solid body that makes hunks popular, and he is happy to show off both. He is not a bodybuilder and not a bear: he is the gym-going guy with a face that refuses to age.
Where it comes from
The word is a blend, the kind gay slang loves: two existing labels squeezed into one. It feels made for porn categories and app profiles, where men need a quick way to say "twink face, hunk body". We could not find a reliable first date for it, and nobody seems to know who coined it, so we will leave it at that.
Twunk, twink, jock, muscle
- A twink is young-looking, slim and smooth, with little muscle.
- A twunk is young-looking and smooth, with clear muscle.
- A jock is athletic and sporty, with the attitude of the locker room, at any age.
- A muscle guy is all about size, whatever the face.
- An otter is slim too, but hairy, which a twunk usually is not.
On the apps and in porn
Twunk is a common self-label for young men who have outgrown the twink tag but are not ready to call themselves anything heavier. In porn it is a popular category of its own, halfway between twink porn and the muscle studios, and a lot of performers move through it: they start as twinks, bulk up and come out the other side as twunks, then hunks, and one day maybe daddies.
Gay slang is full of blends like this. Twunk sits next to words like himbo: take two labels, cut them in half, glue them together and see if anyone uses it.
